Tenants have to climb out a window, to flee a fire

Posted: Updated:
HYANNIS, Mass. -

Four people had to climb through a second story window,

to escape a burning apartment building on Cape Cod Saturday evening.

The fire was called in for 174 Main Street in Hyannis around 5 p.m.

Katie Thibeau told the Cape Cod Times the fire spread so quickly that she and her husband barely had time to

lower their children to bystanders, before they were able to get out themselves.

They were not hurt.

The Red Cross is providing shelter for nine tenants.

The cause is NOT believed to be suspicious.
