Too busy to get a tree? How 'bout delivery

Posted: Updated:
PROVIDENCE -

Fresh cut Christmas trees can still be bought the traditional way at places like Al Jac's at Kinsley and Acorn Streets in Providence, where there's a location that mainly does self-serve pickups.

But now, the Providence territory of Dashed Delivery Service has contracted to have any of the trees delivered and setup at your house for a delivery charge of $19.99.

"Forty-five minutes to an hour after placing the order online they have a tree at their door and with assistance to even get that right up in the stand," said Lou Mazza of Dashed Delivery Service.

All of the trees used for delivery come through Al Jac's, which are fresh cut just days ago from both Maine and Quebec.

"Our trees range anywhere from $35 to $60. Five-and-a-half to 9-foot trees are available," Mazza said.

Delivery only goes to Providence, North Providence, East Providence, Pawtucket and northern Cranston to guarantee a quick turnaround.

"Guaranteed satisfaction for any reason. A guest is not happy, if the tree falls over, we'll pay for that carrier to get back out there and put up a new tree and remove the tree that's unsatisfactory," Mazza said.

You can ever order wreaths and Christmas baskets too.

"(People are) just very busy in this day and age. We don't have enough time so we just added this convenience to them, and so far so good," Mazza said.
