Prosecutors asking judge not to grant gag order

Posted: Updated:
FALL RIVER, Mass. -

Prosecutors are asking the judge not to grant a gag order in the Aaron Hernandez investigation.

NBC 10 obtained documents Tuesday from Fall River Superior Court.

Hernandez's lawyers asked the judge for the gag order. They claim information in the case was leaked to the media by law enforcement.

But prosecutors say that's simply not true.

They argue Hernandez is just trying to divert attention from the evidence against him.

A ruling from the judge is expected in the next few weeks.
