Posted: Updated:
NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

North Providence police have added seven Dodge Chargers to their new fleet of cruisers.

The V-6 powered Dodges are equipped with state-of-the-art computer and communications systems.

According to the Valley Breeze, the new police cars cost approximately $45,000 apiece. They were paid for out of a recent $60 million settlement with Google.

The purchase of the Chargers completes the town's phase one upgrade of police vehicles.

The town recently went out to bid for phase two, which includes new detective cars, administrative vehicles and motorcycles.
