Cruiser involved in Raynham accident

RAYNHAM, Mass. -

Three people, including a  Massachusetts State Police officer, were injured in a multi-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

State police tell NBC 10 news three vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened on Route 495 Northbound, near Route 24, in Raynham, just after midnight.

A spokesman said a trooper had pulled a car over in the breakdown lane, when his cruiser was hit by an oncoming car.  The force of the crash pushed the cruiser into the car that had been pulled over.

The trooper, identified only as a sergeant, was treated and released at Good Samaritan Hospital.

The driver accused of hitting the cruiser, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The third driver also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
