A South County Hospital critical care nurse is the first nurse in Rhode Island to receive the prestigious American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Circle of Excellence Award since it was established in 2009.
A nurse with South County Hospital will be honored next spring in Denver, Co.
Ellen Fales, RN, CCN, of Richmond, will be honored during the AACN's National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition, which is expected to draw more than 6,000 critical care nurses from across the country.
"It's an indescribable honor because there are so many nurses on staff who do such an exceptional job every day," said Fales, an ICU nurse at South County Hospital.
Fales was nominated by three colleagues.
