Posted: Updated:
EAST GREENWICH, R.I. -

Close to 200 East Greenwich High School sophomores will sign a pledge not to text and drive, as part of a statewide campaign on Wednesday.

The 'It Can Wait' campaign is sponsored by the Rhode Island State Police, the Dept. of Transportation, and the Attorney General's office.

Students will learn the effects of distracted driving using a special simulator.

The school's principal will demonstrate the simulator, and the students will watch a documentary on the dangers of texting and driving.
