A new $100,000 bridge will be dedicated in Warwick tomorrow.
Mayor Scott Avedisian, City Council President Donna Travis, and Department of Public Works Director David Picozzi will lead a ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow at 2 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the new Danger Bridge in the Oakland Beach neighborhood. The bridge is located on Sea View Drive.
DPW crews began the project, which included the demolition of the old bridge, in July.
The labor-intensive job included stopping the flow of water, installing the new, five-section culvert as well as blocking concrete, placing rip-rap on the bridge sides, and laying gravel.
Much of the cost was covered through the Office of Community Development with a small allocation from the DPW.
