Teen pleads not guilty in crash that killed pedestrian

Posted: Updated:

An Easton teenager pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a crash that killed a 71-year-old pedestrian on Labor Day.

The Brockton Enterprise reported that Colin O'Hearne was arraigned Monday in Taunton District Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, marked lanes violation and speeding.

Police said O'Hearne, a senior at Oliver Ames High School, struck and killed George Power, who was walking his dog on Summer Street. The dog also was killed.

Power was the husband of the woman who runs the school's physical education department.

A pretrial hearing was set for Dec. 30
