State police: Woman made up story about CCRI assault

Posted: Updated:

An 18-year-old woman made up a story about being assaulted in a bathroom on the Lincoln campus of the Community College of Rhode Island, state police said Tuesday.

State police charged Isabella Good of Pawtucket with falsely reporting a crime.

State police said Good reported to CCRI police and state police that she had been assaulted in a bathroom on Oct. 23. Two campus-wide alerts were issued based on her complaint.

But investigators said her story didn't add up and that when they interviewed Good again, she admitted that she was not assaulted and that she made up the allegation to avoid getting in trouble at home.

Good was arraigned at state police headquarters and released on personal recognizance. A formal arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 7.
