The city's Board of Licenses voted Monday to shut down a Providence strip club for 45 days.
The board also suspended Cheaters' liquor license and its adult entertainment license. The club was also fined $5,000.
According to The Providence Journal, at several hearings, lawyers representing the city argued the club should lose its licenses, citing numerous law and ordinance violations.
The newspaper reported, the board heard testimony from police detectives who had gone to the club in August and discovered that a teenage girl had been dancing at the club since she was 14 years old.
The board did not suspend the club's licenses following the detectives' discovery, however the owner closed the club himself on Aug. 8. and it remained closed through September.
