Rhode Island's new health insurance marketplace has signed up 2,652 individuals and small businesses since its launch on Oct. 1.
HealthSource RI on Monday released updated statistics for its first three weeks in operation. Some of those who have signed up have already paid, and some have payments pending.
The marketplace, also known as an exchange, has not broken down who is enrolling and what types of plans are most popular.
HealthSource also reported that 7,481 accounts have been created. The customer service center has had 12,168 calls and 803 walk-ins, and the website has had 69,565 unique visits.
Director Christine Ferguson said last week more have signed up than she expected.
Most Americans will be required to have coverage as of Jan. 1 under the Affordable Care Act.
