Pedestrian killed after being struck on 95

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a passing vehicle on Route 95 near exit 22C late Friday night.

Rhode Island State Police tell NBC 10 that the man has been identified as Anthony J. Pashalis, 28, East Lyme, Connecticut, was walking in a travel lane just after 11:30 Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle.

According to police Pashalis was pronounced dead at the scene, and was taken into custody by the state medical examiner.

The vehicle that struck Pashalis was driven by a Rhode Island driver, whose identity is not being released by police, however they do tell NBC 10 that there are no charges pending against the driver.
