An immigration march was held in Providence Saturday as part of a National Day of Action for Immigration Respect and Reform.
The march held in Providence was one of three that was held in the New England region, with similar rallies and marches being held in Boston, Manchester, and Providence. Hundreds more events were planned across the country Saturday and Sunday, with their goals all the same, to raise a voice for immigrant dignity and respect and for the U.S. House of Representatives to move forward with an immigration reform bill.
Saturday's march was coordinated by "We are all Arizona," and participants met at the Providence Place Mall to begin the walk. A public forum was set to take place at 4pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where key elected officials spoke about their support for immigration reform.
