Defense attorneys, representing James "Whitey" Bulger, have asked a federal judge, to not allow some victim witness impact statements, when he is sentenced in November.
The Boston Globe reported that the lawyers want to bar
testimony from relatives of some murder victims, whose
deaths were not tied to Bulger.
The former leader of the "Winter Hill Gang" was found guilty of 11 of 19 murders by a jury in August.
The jury returned a 'no finding" in one of the other murder cases, and the jury failed to prove Bulger's involvement in seven other murders.
The paper says prosecutors had not responded to the filing, as of Wednesday night.
Bulger is to be sentenced Nov. 13 and 14.
