State health officials are trying to pin down the source of a mystery illness that affected more than a dozen members of the Bishop Feehan High School football team, landing at least one player in the hospital.
A state Department of Public Health spokeswoman said stool samples have been taken from students affected.
A statement from Bishop Feehan said 18 students were dismissed from school Monday complaining of stomach ailments and vomiting. The school said all of the students had shared a meal together Sunday at a private home.
Sixteen of the 18 students were back in school on Wednesday.
The statement from Bishop Feehan said no football games were canceled because of the illnesses.
Bishop Feehan High School is in Attleboro.
