Amtrak has announced limited Acela Express service will return this week between New York and Boston.
The news comes after successful tests of a temporary repair to the electrical system that powers the Metro-North Railroad section of the Northeast Corridor.
Train 2190 will be the first Acela Express departure from New York City, leaving Penn Station at 6:20 a.m.
Southbound, Train 2153 will leave South Station in Boston at 6:05 a.m.
Regional service will continue under diesel power, so riders may experience some delays.
Service plans for Tuesday and beyond will be announced Monday.
A circuit failure earlier this week halted many trains. The damage could take weeks to completely repair.
