A suspicious vehicle that was seen near the Massachusetts Statehouse with one of the occupants holding what appeared to be some type of rifle has been found.
The incident occurred just before noon on Sunday, when the Department of Conservation Rangers at the Statehouse reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the loading dock with two people inside. On their surveillance video the passenger appeared to be holding a long object that looked like a rifle.
The vehicle left the area but was later found by Massachusetts State Police Troop H, and the passenger that was holding what appeared to be a rifle was identified as a 12 year old who was holding his newly purchased "Air Soft Rifle," which is a toy gun that fires plastic pellets.
Massachusetts State Police tell NBC 10 that the driver of the vehicle and the 12 year old are currently speaking with state police investigators, and that while it appears at this time that no live firearm was at the Statehouse the investigation is still ongoing.
