A 21-year-old Providence man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison for his part in the shooting death of a 12-year-old girl in June.
The attorney general's office says Ricardo Vasquez plead guilty Friday in Superior Court to one count of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm) and three counts of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon.
Four other men have been charged with killing Aynis Vargas, a 6th grader shot to death outside a graduation party. Three women with her were shot and survived.
Prosecutors say it was motivated by a gang dispute. They say 21-year-old Branden Castro was the triggerman. They say Castro got out of a van and opened fire on the group.
Castro has not yet entered a plea. He has been at the ACI since July.
Luis Gonzalez, 23, Angel Valerio, 19, and a juvenile pleaded not guilty on Thursday.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
