WESTERLY, R.I. -

Westerly police have charged a 16-year-old boy with disorderly conduct and two counts of vandalism in connection with what investigators call a prank at the high school.

Chief Edward St. Clair told NBC 10 that a janitor at the high school discovered some writing on a bathroom stall that involved a threat with four names written on it.

St. Clair told NBC 10 the boy's name was written on the stall with three of his friends.

The threat said an incident was going to happen on Oct. 1.

St. Clair said the threat was "concerning" but "not credible."

Police told NBC 10 the case is considered closed and there's no threat to the school.

St. Clair said school officials helped track down the boy and the communication between the police and the school worked as planned.
