The Rhode Island attorney general's office, state police and AT&T on Thursday helped kick off a national texting and driving campaign.
The public service campaign is called "Txtng & Driving … It Can Wait".
Students at North Providence High School were part of a demonstration that showed how much texting affects a driver's ability to maintain control of a vehicle.
The campaign will run through the 2013-14 school year.
