LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. -

Rhode Island State Police on Wednesday announced the arrests of two men for growing and selling marijuana following a two-month long investigation.

William Maney, 50, of Little Compton, was charged with delivery of marijuana to a police officer, possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and cultivation of marijuana. Maney was arraigned before a justice of the peace and released on $10,000 surety bail.

Matthew Cornacchia, 51, of Leominster, Mass., was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a narcotics nuisance. Cornacchia was arraigned and held on $30,000 surety bail.

Police said tips, undercover dealings and surveillance video led them to a house on High Meadow Road in Little Compton, where they arrested and charged Maney.

Police said Maney had a marijuana caregiver card but was abusing his rights to grow the drug.

An undercover officer bought marijuana from Maney several times before police came in to shut down the operation. Police said they found 35 marijuana plants, 25 ounces of loose marijuana, and more than $10,000 in cash.

Police said the marijuana Maney was selling was coming from a nearby house.

Police said they learned that Cornacchia had set up a marijuana growing operation at a house on Long Highway.

"Just about every single room in the house had some type of marijuana growing in it or drying," said Lt. Antone Marion of the Little Compton Police Department.

Police said every room in the house was used to grow marijuana.

Police said they found 32 marijuana plants, 22 root stems from harvested plants and about 100 pounds of organic marijuana.
