The emergency room at Landmark Medical Center was back in operation Friday night after an incident their earlier in the day involving pepper spray.
"This afternoon an incident occurred in our emergency room that required the response of the Woonsocket Police Department. During their response, pepper spray was utilized in our emergency room area to subdue an individual. Unfortunately, the pepper spray was pulled into the emergency room's ventilation system," said Bill Fischer, Landmark's spokesperson.
Other areas of the hospital in Woonsocket were not affected.
NBC 10 was notified at 7:15pm that the emergency room had reopened and was fully functioning.
