A woman was injured early Friday morning after she was struck by a tree limb and became trapped outside Rhode Island Hospital.
Hospital officials told NBC 10 a limb broke off a tree and hit a woman who was walking in front of a parking lot on Eddy Street at about 7:45 a.m.
She was trapped for a short time, but rescue crews were able to free her.
Several doctors and nurses rushed outside and were ready to help once the victim was out from under the tree.
According to the hospital, the woman was treated but wouldn't release any other information.
A grounds crew also checked to make sure other trees on campus were not a safety issue.
