A Wakefield woman was killed early Friday morning in a crash in Richmond that brought down power lines and shut down an intersection for hours.
Police said 24-year-old Sierra Stanton lost control of her car on a sharp bend on Route 138 at about 1:30 a.m. Her car went off the road, struck a telephone pole and then a tree.
Stanton was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said She was wearing a seatbelt and that the car's air bags deployed.
The crash cut power along Route 138 into Wyoming. Richmond Elementary School was closed Friday because of the outage.
National Grid crews worked through the morning to restring power lines brought down by the crash.
Route 138 was reopened to traffic in both directions at Route 112 just before 1 p.m.
