Male stripper accused of assaulting Providence woman

Posted: Updated:

An exotic dancer accused of rape in Massachusetts was charged Monday with simple assault in Rhode Island.

Providence police said Patrick Ladapo was arrested at his Taber Avenue home Monday morning.

The mother of the alleged victim told the NBC 10 I-Team that Ladapo harassed her 23-year-old daughter while asking her for dates and put her in a headlock. She filed a complaint with police after seeing reports of Ladapo's rape arrest.

Ladapo pleaded not guilty to the assault charge in Providence District Court. He was released on bail.

Ladapo, 31, is charged with sexually assaulting two women while dancing at a private party in Wareham, Mass., last month.

The I-Team has also reported that while Ladapo was a student at Brown University in 2008, another woman accused him of sexual assault, but never filed charges.

Ladapo left Brown that year.
