Franklin teacher involved in 'disturbing' allegation

FRANKLIN, Mass. -

A Franklin, Mass. school teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave, after being accused of misconduct, and will not be at school for the first day of class Tuesday.

According to a report by Boston television station WHDH, the unidentified male high school teacher was accused of allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.

A statement, posted to the school district web site, stated that Franklin public school administrators immediately contacted the police as well as the Mass. Department of Children and Families.

The statement adds, "The alleged incident is disturbing and does not reflect the expectations we espouse as a school district or as a community."

The statement also says the safety and security of students is the highest priority of the Franklin public school system.
