Tiverton bank robbery suspect turns himself in

TIVERTON, R.I. -

New information in a bank robbery in Tiverton.

Police say Daniel  Fernandes, 22, turned himself into Connecticut State Police last week for the warrant issued by Tiverton Police.

He is the suspect in the robbery of the Bank Newport bank on August 17th. 

Fernandes is also wanted by the State of Connecticut on a parole violation after he walked away from a pre-release halfway house. 

Tiverton Police say they will seek an extradition hearing for his return to Rhode Island.
