Battleship Cove commemorates end of WWII

The man pictured in the iconic photograph on Life Magazine depicting the end of WWII will be at Battleship Cove in Fall River this weekend.

George Mendonsa has been recognized as "The Kissing Sailor." He will be signing copies of a book about him on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The celebration at the Cove commemorates the end of World War II and celebrates the Navy.

The book signing is free with admission to Battleship Cove.

Admission costs $17 for adults; $10.50 for kids ages 6 to 12; and admission is free for age 5 and younger.
