A man accused of killing two women in Johnston and abducting a 2-year-old boy has faced charges of murder and kidnapping in the past, according to an NBC 10 I-Team investigation.

Court documents show it's not the first time Daniel Rodriguez has gone after a woman with a restraining order against him.

Evelyn Burgos, 40, was found shot to death Sunday morning inside her Johnston home, along with her 25-year-old daughter, Vanessa Perez.

Burgos had a temporary restraining order against Rodriguez, and she wrote in court documents that she was scared of him.

"I fear for my life ... He may be waiting for me hiding," she said in a domestic assault affidavit. "He told me he would kill me."

Court records obtained by the I-Team show it wasn't the first time Rodriguez allegedly attacked a woman with a restraining order against him.

Pawtucket police arrested him in October 2007 for allegedly kidnapping an ex-girlfriend at knife-point as she walked down the street.

Police reports paint a chilling picture.

The victim "… attempted to run but she was chased by Rodriguez, who grabbed her and then held a knife to her throat and forced her in the car," the police report said.

"Rodriguez told (her) he could kill her anytime he wanted," the police report said.

Police also say Rodriguez told the victim, "That (expletive) restraining order ain't doing (expletive) for your now, is it?" and "...you're lucky I have allowed you to live these past two months."

But prosecutors were forced to drop the charges when the victim didn't show up to testify, after telling Pawtucket police she feared for her life.

Years earlier, Rodriguez was arrested for murder after a shooting at the Hartford Park housing project in Providence. The gunshots were just out of view of surveillance cameras.

Providence detectives said the man known on the street as "Radio Dan" shot and killed 26-year-old Tyrone Tate inside a parked car. But despite several statements from witnesses who picked Rodriguez out of a photo line-up, he walked.

Prosecutors were again forced to drop the charges when a key witness failed to show up to testify.

Rodriguez also has served time for assault.
