CRANSTON, R.I. -

Editor's note: A previous version of this story indicated Daniel Rodriguez was a probation violator. The Rhode Department of Corrections says Rodriguez's probation ended before he was charged in the Johnston double murder.

Daniel Rodriguez, 28, is accused of killing two women inside their Johnston home.

Police said Rodriguez fatally shot 40-year-old Evelyn Burgos, and her 25-year-old daughter, Vanessa Perez and kidnapped 2-year-old Isaiah Perez at a home on Oaktree Drive on Sunday.

But his arrest in Providence on Sunday wasn't the first time Rodriguez has been trouble. Police sources confirm officers in Providence were familiar with him long before Sunday's double murder.

Court records obtained by the NBC 10 I-Team showed a lengthy criminal record.

In 2004, Rodriguez was 18 when he was arrested for murder after a shooting in Providence. Tyrone Tate, 26, was shot to death inside his car, outside the Hartford housing complex. The charge was later dismissed by prosecutors, although it was unclear why on Monday.

In 2007, Rodriguez was arrested for domestic assault and admitted to the crime, entering a plea of no contest.

A year later in 2008, Pawtucket police arrested him for domestic kidnapping and felony assault. Once again, prosecutors dismissed the charges a few months later.

Rodriguez has also been arrested on drug charges.
