Providence and its school district are offering two job fair for hundreds of substitute teacher positions.
The first was held Thursday at the Providence Career and Technical Academy. The second job fair is scheduled for Aug. 20.
The city said the job fairs are intended to ensure the schools have enough qualified substitute teachers for the approaching school year.
Applicants holding a bachelor's degree are eligible for the positions, which are paid by the day. Interested individuals must obtain a general subject matter certification.
