One of North Providence's best known restaurants has closed.
The Valley Breeze reported that Oki Japanese Steakhouse on Mineral Spring Avenue is in receivership. The restaurant has been a mainstay in town for at least 30 years.
A court-appointed receiver told the newspaper that she plans to schedule an auction before August. She said the business will be sold either as a complete restaurant or split up.
The receiver said Oki's owner was not under pressure to declare bankruptcy. She said he was putting his own money into the business and decided it was time to pay of his debts.
