Slideshow: Least and Most Stressed States

Posted: Updated:

A new poll says Rhode Island is the second most stressed out state in the country.

The Gallup poll released Wednesday says Rhode Island follows only West Virginia on the list of the most stressed states. About 46 percent of Rhode Islanders said they felt stressed.

Rhode Islanders topped the list when it came to experiencing the least enjoyment. Although 80 percent of Ocean State citizens said they had felt enjoyment in previous days, that was the lowest tally in the country.

The poll says Hawaii residents are the least stressed in the country and experience the most enjoyment. Nearly 90 percent of Hawaiians said they felt enjoyment.

Gallup polled more than 350,000 adults by phone. The poll's sampling margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points.
