Marathon memorial held in Fall River

Posted: Updated:
FALL RIVER, Mass. -

Music and reflection marked a memorial service held in Fall River Saturday to honor those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

The service was held so that the community would have an opportunity to honor the lives that were saved, the lives that were lost, and those that were injured. The courageous efforts of the first responders, and private citizens who jumped into action so heroically during the crisis were also honored during the service.

Although the city is 50 miles away from the site of the terror attacks the events of Monday felt like they happened in their own backyards, not to mention that many have relatives that live in the area. This service allowed people to try to accept the answers that are never easy to understand when it comes to such a tragic situation, but by coming together hopefully helps to heal and recognize a reverence for life among the terrible loss.
