ACUSHNET, Mass. -

Acushnet police are trying to raise reward money in the case of a dead dog.

Police are searching for a man who left a 3-and-a-half year old female pit bull in a trash bag at the base of the Slocum Street bridge on Thursday.

An animal control officer told NBC 10 the dog was very sick before it died.

All donations can be made to Coalition for Animals of New Bedford.
