Former city councilor on probation after DUI arrest

A former Fall River city councilor was placed on probation Monday stemming from a drunken driving arrest in January.

Brian Bigelow was charged with drunken driving and driving with a suspended license.

According to Freetown police, Bigelow was seen driving erratically on Route 24 before his Jeep struck a guard rail on Jan. 13.

Bigelow also lost his license for 45 days and will have to complete an alcohol education program.
