Principal's letter says stranger approached elementary student

Posted: Updated:

School officials in Pawtucket are telling parents to remind their children to be careful when heading to and from school.

This letter was sent home Thursday with students from Curvin-McCabe Elementary School in Pawtucket.

The principal said a stranger offered a student a ride home on Wednesday afternoon.  The student ran home and reported the incident.

The letter asks parents to remind their children to be cautious when walking to and from school and not to talk to strangers.

Police had no comment.
