Researchers tag great white to follow her travels

Posted: Updated:

You don't have to wait until Shark Week to see sharks in action.

Researchers reeled in a 2,000 pound great white shark off Florida coast on March 4, 2013. They tagged the shark and named her Lydia.

The non-profit organization named Ocearch says she's the first great white to be captured, tagged and released off the southeastern U.S. coast.

Lydia will help researchers understand sharks' migration patterns.

She's tagged with a GPS device and you can follow her.
