A man dubbed the "bearded bandit" pleaded guilty Thursday to nine counts of bank robbery, Rhode Island's federal prosecutor said.
Justin Worley admitted that he robbed eight banks in Rhode Island between April 16 and Sept. 18 of last year. He also admitted robbing a bank in Seekonk on Feb. 23, 2012. Prosecutors said Worley stole $32,633.
Worley was dubbed the "bearded bandit" for wearing a dark beard during the robberies. It was apparently a disguise.
Worley, 34, was arrested in September at a motel in Seekonk.
He's scheduled to be sentenced May 24.
