Police catch man with bag full of prescription drugs

Posted: Updated:

A 25-year-old Westerly man is accused of robbing a CVS pharmacy early Friday morning.

Patrick Marr was charged with robbery, crimes against pharmacies and resisting arrest.

Police said an officer spotted Marr running through the parking lot of the CVS store on Granite Street at about 3 a.m. Police said the man refused orders to stop and that a large plastic bag dropped from under his sweatshirt.

The officer caught Marr after a brief foot chase. Police said the bag was full of prescription drugs.

Police said Marr went to the pharmacy counter and demanded that employees fill a bag with prescription drugs. He didn't show a weapon and no one was hurt.
