Raise your hand if you think shopping for Valentine's Day is hard. It seems like jewelry, flowers and chocolate are the only things for sale. Maybe a framed picture of you and your hunny bunny. Its hard to get creative sometimes. Especially when you are broke after the holidays.
You know what? Sometimes the classics, like flowers and chocolate are just fine. As a girl, I'll tell you right now I would never turn down jewelry! As long as it's not ugly. I never buy jewelry on my own so hey why not!? I did a little research and found ProFlowers.com is a fantastic website to help you get your V-Day going.
As you can imagine, there are lots of flower arrangements to choose from. You might think it's a cliche gift, but flowers can say a lot. They all have different meanings. You can send a special, personally crafted message to someone you love.
Here's an idea I just thought of writing this, and I won't tell anyone if you use it.
Look up the meaning of the flowers you want to buy (Proflowers.com has a special section dedicated to meanings) and write a little note to your special someone about why you picked that flower.
Here is the description from Proflowers.com:
"The meaning of tulips is generally perfect love. Like many flowers, different colors of tulips also often carry their own significance. Red tulips are most strongly associated with true love, while purple symbolizes royalty. The meaning of yellow tulips has evolved somewhat, from once representing hopeless love to now being a common expression for cheerful thoughts and sunshine. White tulips are used to claim worthiness or to send a message of forgiveness. Variegated tulips, once among the most popular varieties due to their striking color patterns, represent beautiful eyes."
So buy your significant other-or your mother- Red tulips and write an note saying how perfect your love is for them. Explain why its true and true. Give an example of why they are so amazing.
BAM! Easy, beautiful gift with some thought and originality.
Oh and Proflowers.com has other items as well. You can find personalized gifts, desserts, spa baskets, wine, even a special section with "gifts for him".
They have some great deals and I found a bonus! If you go to livingsocial.com you can buy a $30 credit for just $15.
Up next - Kiss My Valentine is a free app from Iconosys. You can send flowers, make dinner reservations and buy concert or sporting tickets through the app. Basically it's a one stop shop.
You can also send text messages of hugs and kisses to your friends and family.
The app is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese.
