Cierra Putman - News, Weather and Classifieds for Southern New England

Cierra Putman

Before moving to Rhode Island, Cierra worked in Rochester New York for WROC. In Rochester, Cierra covered a multitude of stories that included the Kodak's bankruptcy announcement, the mysterious illness of teenage girls in LeRoy and the numerous pieces on how New York schools response to the growing bullying problem. She's now ready to make her mark here in Southern New England.

Around town, you may see Cierra in black and gold - the colors of her alma mater the University of Missouri - School of Journalism. It's at Mizzou that she made her on air debut as a reporter on the NBC affiliate KOMU.

Originally from Southern Illinois, Cierra made two decisions at an early age – she wanted to be a storyteller and discover new places and people. Since graduating high school, she's worked to make that dream a reality by interning at the NBC London News Bureau to moving down South and then to the Northeast for reporting positions. In each new place, she's learned everyone has a story to tell and the only thing that changes is the scenery.

Whether in Texas, New York or Rhode Island now, Cierra loves learning more about the local community and what matters to the people in it. Feel free to say hello and send a story idea to her email account -
