R.J. Heim does feature and science reporting in addition to his duties as meteorologist for NBC 10's weekend evening newscasts.
R.J. joined the NBC 10 team on March 14, 1993, the day of the Blizzard of '93. He worked as a weather anchor/reporter at WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pa., and as a weather anchor at WCIX-TV in Miami before coming to NBC 10.
His other positions have included Palmer Cablevision in Naples, Fla., as a weather anchor/reporter, and the same duties at WTVE-TV in Reading, Pa. R.J. has won two Emmy Awards in the category of outstanding weathercasting.
R.J. was born in New York City, grew up in Phillipsburg, N.J., and Yardley and Gettysburg, Pa. He is a meteorologist who studied at Millersville University in Pennsylvania, as well as Portland State and Mississippi State. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Temple University in Philadelphia.
R.J. enjoys bicycling, music, reading, travel, and the beach when it is warm.
