Molly O'Brien joins NBC 10 as the traffic and technology reporter.

Originally from Seattle, Molly came to Providence from Beaumont, Texas, where she was a features and general assignment reporter at KBMT.

At KBMT, Molly started her day by waking up viewers on "12 News Daybreak." She reported live in the field showcasing upcoming community and events and activities. Then she switched gears to general assignment reporting. With dual responsibilities, Molly covered a variety of news, ranging from fires and murders to charity fundraisers and the state fair.

Molly was an active member in the Southeast Texas community, volunteering with several organizations. She was awarded with the Beaumont Remarkable Woman of the Year award and made the Texas Association of School Boards 2011 Media Honor Roll for her dedicated reporting on education.

Before moving to Texas, Molly was the co-host on "Good Morning Northwest" at KAPP/KVEW in Tri-Cities, Wash.

Along with her co-hosting duties, Molly did the weather and traffic. She also created an environmental segment from the ground up called "On the Green" and wrote a supplemental blog.

Before starting a career in broadcasting, Molly worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game Operations.

Molly graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University. During her time as a Sun Devil, Molly worked for ESPN and spent three years interning at KNXV-TV in Phoenix with the sports department and "Sonoran Living." She also did freelance work in remote production for Monday Night Football, college football, Major League Baseball and NBA games.

Molly is dedicated to helping abandoned animals find forever homes, and she hasn't wasted any time getting involved in Rhode Island's animal rescue community. Molly currently volunteers at Providence Animal Control and is the official spokeswoman for the Ocean State Animal Coalition.

Molly has ample experience volunteering with animal organizations, including the Animal Rescue League, Bound 4 the Pound, the Humane Society, and Beaumont Animal Control. She's also fostered more than 20 cats and dogs, finding them all loving homes.

In her free time, Molly enjoys playing soccer, beach combing, enjoying the great outdoors and playing with her dog, Wiley.
