If you have a tip for the NBC 10 I-Team, call 401-455-9105 or send e-mail.

NBC 10's I-Team was the first television investigative unit in the Rhode Island/Southeastern New England area. Formed in 1979 by I-Team reporters Jim Taricani and Gary Scurka, the I-Team has produced award-winning investigations into organized crime, public corruption and social issues ranging from child abuse to battered women.

In 1981, the I-Team first exposed the connection between the New England Mafia and the Laborers' International Union of North America. The story in part lead to indictments of mobsters and union officials. In 1983, the I-Team exposed illegal dumping of toxic waste in Rhode Island.

I-Team reporter Jim Taricani is considered by his peers to be a leading expert on the New England Mafia. In 1996, the I-Team won an Edward R. Murrow award for exposing the connection between illegal strip clubs and City Hall. And I-Team reporter Jim Taricani served a 121-day home confinement sentence in 2005 for refusing to disclose a confidential source in connection with an FBI investigation into Providence City Hall.

In 2005, NBC 10 consumer reporter Audrey Laganas joined the I-Team and has reported stories about elderly abuse and illegal brothels operating in Rhode Island.
