Michelle Brown joined NBC 10 in November 2004 as a general assignment reporter.

She comes to Rhode Island from the ABC affiliate in Springfield, Mass., where she worked as a weekend anchor and reporter.

During her 2½ years in western Massachusetts, Michelle covered a number of national stories, including the gay marriage crisis, the New Hampshire primaries and the Democratic National Convention.

Michelle is delighted to be in the Ocean State and looks forward to getting to know the people, culture and communities of Southern New England.

Michelle was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, before moving to New York. She graduated from Baruch College in New York and attended graduate school at New York Institute of Technology.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys tennis, listening to jazz, traveling, watching foreign movies and having dinner with friends.
