Dan Jaehnig

Dan Jaehnig is a six-time Emmy award winning journalist who comes home to NBC 10 after spending five years at WFXT in Boston as the weekend anchor.

Dan will co-anchor NBC 10 News at 5 p.m. and report live on Southern New England's biggest stories on NBC 10 News at 11 p.m. Dan will also fill-in anchor for NBC 10 News at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

"I am honored and excited to be a part of the NBC 10 family again," Dan said.

Dan first worked at NBC 10 from 1998 to 2002 and was at the scene of some of the biggest stories. Dan is remembered for his extensive reporting on JFK Jr.'s plane crash, the crash of Egypt Air Flight 990 and Operation Plunder Dome. Jaehnig's "Village of the Day" stories remain a viewer favorite. Dan's storytelling and passion shine through on each story.

While at WFXT, Dan received six Emmy Awards, including two Emmys for Best Reporter and two Emmys for Best Spot News. Dan also received Emmys for News Writing and an Emmy for his investigative series on prostitutes on the streets of Fall River.

Dan volunteers for several organizations. In the past, he has volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He currently volunteers at a homeless shelter and is involved with the Wellness Community, which offers support and encouragement for cancer patients.

Dan is married and has twin five-year-old daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, volunteering and laughing
