PROVIDENCE—State lawmakers are returning to Smith Hill next week for a new legislative session.
Twenty-three new members of the General Assembly will be sworn in next Tuesday afternoon at the State House.
The House of Representatives is expected to re-elect current Speaker William Murphy, while the Senate is expected to elect M. Teresa Paiva-Weed as Senate President.
There are seven new senators and 16 new Representatives.
