CRANSTON, R.I.—A Johnston couple has won the Rhode Island Lottery’s first $1 million raffle prize.
Anthony and Rebecca Broccoli claimed their prize Friday morning before heading out for breakfast. Their winnings are worth about $680,000, once taxes are deducted.
The couple plans to use the money to help pay the college tuition for two teenage sons.
Anthony Broccoli said he also recently won $21,000 in a Keno game.
The drawing was held New Year’s Eve at the Twin River slot parlor in Lincoln.
The winning numbers were 1-0-5-9-9-5.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

That is awesome! Good for the Brocolli family for their winnings.
Isn’t it funny how 1 million dollars would make you a rich person for life back in the 80’s. Not any more.
Props to RI and Twin river for this raffle. I think if they did this often, and maybe kick out some more prizes this would be the ultimate gamble. 1 in 200K that is pretty good if you ask me.
